Scotland Signals is run by Elevate Studio Ltd, which is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests: hello@scotlandsignals.com.
What we hold about subscribers
- Your email address, business name and sign-in records.
- The trades, areas, keywords and postcode you choose, and the notes and statuses you add in the job tracker.
- Your plan and billing status. Card details are taken and held by Stripe; we never see them.
- Which weekly emails we sent you and any feedback you give.
We use this to run the service you pay for (the legal basis is our contract with you), to keep records for tax, and to keep the service secure.
Planning data
Leads come from the planning lists councils publish. We keep the application reference, the description, the site address and the council's decision. We do not store applicants' names or contact details, and we never write to or contact homeowners.
Who processes data for us
- Supabase (database and sign-in), hosted in the EU (Ireland).
- Cloudflare (website hosting and email delivery).
- Stripe (payments and invoices).
- Anthropic, to write the one-line job summaries from the public planning description. No subscriber data is sent.
Cookies
We only set the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
Account data for as long as you subscribe, then 12 months; billing records for six years, as tax law requires. You can ask us to delete your account at any time.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. If you're unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
